In just a few recent examples, top scholars like associate professor of accounting and James F. and Shirley J. Rippey Research Scholar Kyle Peterson, professor of marketing and Philip H. Knight Chair Linda Price, and professor emeritus of management Alan Meyer worked closely with students to help propel rewarding careers in research and beyond.

Alumni and friends of the college are sharing wisdom with MBA students through our Oregon MBA Mentor Network and undergraduate students through our Job Shadow Program.
In this vein, we are fortunate to count our donor community as primary investors in student employment outcomes. A game-changing gift from alumnus Jay Mohr "76 and his wife Kim paved the way for greater access to cutting-edge career development, advanced certifications, staff, and alumni and employer engagement options through Mohr Career Services. The Robin and Roger Best Fund for Doctoral Research and Teaching rewards PhD students for research, publishing, collaboration, and great teaching—factors the fund benefactors say are a proven through-line to a successful career in academia.
Alumni, Businesses, and Students Move Industry Forward
Industry learning opportunities, facilitated by both alumni and our friends in the region and around the world, are a hallmark of our programs.
You may have heard that Ducks hire Ducks, but our alumni spirit of generosity starts long before any interviews or job offers. Recently, Lundquist College of Business honors students traveled to San Francisco to meet with Business Honors Program alumni and others at Slack, PAC-12 Network, Blackrock Financial Consulting, and Roku.
In another win for industry connectivity, Looptworks, a Portland, Oregon-based upcycling company helmed by a UO alumnus, joined forces with UO Athletics and the UO Sports Product Management program to deconstruct athletic gear and repurpose it into the new fan product line called Re-Duck.
With Tax Day recently behind us, I'm also reminded of VITA, our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program offered by University of Oregon accounting students who are specially trained for the task. VITA began when instructor of accounting Shannon Dolan, then a student and president of Beta Alpha Psi, was approached by an IRS representative looking to launch e-file and free tax preparation on college campuses with a student experience-based initiative.
As you can see, at the Lundquist College of Business, we are investing in talented human capital—from lecture all the way to launch.
